Samsung: Galaxy S III sales have exceeded 20 million unitsAlex Wagner - Deputy Managing Editor, News Desk
Less than two months after the Samsung Galaxy S III cruised past the 10 million units sold mark, Samsung's flagship Android handset has achieved another milestone. The company revealed today that sales of the Galaxy S III have reached 20 million worldwide after 100 days of availability. That figure breaks down to 6 million sales in Europe, 4.5 million in Asia, 4 million in North America and 2.5 million in Korea.
Samsung has a habit of checking in with us every now and then to tout the sales of its Galaxy devices. For example, Samsung announced in early June that the Galaxy S II had reached sales of 28 million units in its 13 months of availability, while sales of the original Galaxy S had grown to 24 million by that time. In today's press release, Samsung touts that the Galaxy S III hit its new sales milestone about three times faster than the Galaxy S II and six times faster than the Galaxy S. Considering all of that, it doesn't seem like it'll be long before Samsung announces the sales of the S III have surpassed the figures of its predecessors. So how many of you have contributed to the 20 million by picking up a Galaxy S III?
