Purported Samsung Galaxy Note II front panel shown in leaked imageAlex Wagner - Deputy Managing Editor, News Desk
Hot on the heels of the emergence of a purported Nokia Windows Phone 8 front panel, a similar part allegedly belonging to Samsung's Galaxy Note II has made its way online. The image comes from French site Nowhereelse, which has been the source of a couple of new iPhone parts leaks lately, and shows a bezel part with a hole on the bottom for a home button as well as a few openings up top, presumably for things like the earpiece and front-facing camera. Thanks to the presence of that ruler, we can see that the opening for the display measures around 5.5 inches, which lines up with previous rumors. Unlike the aforementioned Nokia panel that we say yesterday, this part doesn't bear any Samsung branding.
While we won't know for sure whether or not this part actually belongs to the Galaxy Note II, certain aspects of the image make the panel seem somewhat legit. For example, the photo appears to have been taken in a factory style setting with workers wearing dust coverings on their shoes, and the part features an opening for a Samsung-esque home button. The good news is that we don't have much longer to wait for the Galaxy Note II to be formally introduced, as the device is expected to debut at a Samsung event on August 29. Based on what the rumor mill has claimed about the Note II so far, are any of you interested in Samsung's newest phone-tablet hybrid device?
