Late last year, Adobe announced that it would be ending development on Flash Player for mobile devices after the release of Flash Player 11.1. Now that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is official, the company has decided that it'd be a good time to reiterate its stance on its official blog. Adobe says that it has not developed or tested Flash Player for Android 4.1 and that there will be no certified versions of Flash Player for the new OS. It added that Flash Player "may exhibit unpredictable behavior" on devices that get updated to Jelly Bean, so Adobe recommends uninstalling Flash Player on those products. Finally, Adobe says that it plans to stop allowing new installs of Flash Player from Google Play on August 15, and only those with Flash Player already installed will have access to updates.

This news doesn't come as much of a surprise considering Adobe's aforementioned announcement of the end of development of Flash Player for mobile. It's kind of interesting to see Adobe recommend that users uninstall Flash Player when upgrading to Android 4.1 from pre-Jelly Bean devices, but considering that it hasn't actually tested Flash Player with Google's latest tasty snack, doing so might not be a bad idea if Flash Player starts acting wonky with 4.1.
