Additional Details Leak For Verizon’s “Twice The Data’ Holiday Promotion
Did todays news concerning Verizon’s “Twice the Data” plan have you interested in additional details? Well great news as that’s exactly what we’ve got for you. As a quick recap, beginning November 8th and running for an unknown length of time, Verizon is offering twice the data bandwidth on all tiered data plans for 4G smartphones allowing for:
- $30 for 2GB becomes 4GB
- $50 for 5GB becomes 10GB
- $80 for 10 GB becomes 20GB
In our earlier post we were unsure how long customers would remain on these promotional plans and now we can answering as this document tells us that “customers retain the pricing as long as they remain on those features.” As an additional note, data for mobile hotspot allowances are not doubled with standard mobile hotspot pricing applying. The rest of the information gleamed from these pictures looks pretty much like what we heard before. The promotion is good for new and existing customers on 4G LTE smartphones and can be added via customer care or through the My Verizon/My Business website.
Verizon will also introduce a “smartphone data entry level offer” with the introduction of this data promotion. For just $20 per month, customers will receive 300MB of data and is perfect for customers new to the smartphone world who are just introducing themselves to all that a smartphone can offer. This offer is good from November 8th, 2011 to January 15, 2012. This plan does not qualify for the “twice the data” offer as the other tiered data options.

Does that mean the double data plan is good until January 15 or until my new contract would end?

so it sounds like as long as you sign up by january 15, you retain double bandwidth privileges until you change to a different plan.
or in other words, on january 15, the bandwidth reverts back to the original amounts, but your double bandwidth is retained (like being grandfathered in).

Can this “Verizon ninja” see if this offer applies to tablets? Nothing about tablets is mentioned in the screenshots above.
Yeah I wonder if people with the iPhone would be eligible for this promo too
only the 300 mb promo. the double data only applies to 4G smartphones. the iphone is not a 4G phone
no tablets. just 4g smartphones
